Room was noisy

We are given room 510 over the restaurant below. It was noisy with the coming and going of the people in the restaurant. The hotel was not full so why were we given a noisy room. The noise started well before 6 a. And didn't finish until after 10 p. We paid our accommodation before arriving on our credit card. The receptionist took a swipe of our credit card but didn't explain why. When we booked out we then found out that 0 had been pre-authorised to our credit card and it will take 10 days to fall off.

There is no mini bar in the room therefore I find this pre-authorisation unacceptable. It was explained it was for any damage that may occur however if you have the credit card number why can't you do a telephone charge instead of a pre-authorisation if there is any damage. We now have to wait 10 days for it to clear. I work in the travel industry and would find it hard to recommend your hotel

Hervey Bay is great however we own property there and visit the town periodically.
