this motel should be demolished

Very unprofessional no staff on premise all weekend we were asked to leave our money in the cutlery drawer which we have not done. The unit is just left open for anyone to walk in. The smell of the unit was absolutely disgusting even with all doors and windows left open we had to constantly spray freshener which we went and bought ,no littke soaps or anything ,the grounds were very untidy for 160 a night we were appalled maybe 50 would of been reasonable very unhappy,never again.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone

The actual rooms were clean & tidy. The attitude of staff was dissapointing & the quality of the restaurant food was not up to the high prices being charged. If you are paying top restaurant prices then you don't want fatty tough over cooked steak & unfrozen pav patty for dessert. When asking about the items on offer in the compendulum they send you down the road to the takeaway that doesn't actually stock what you were after.

On check out you then get charged for mini bar items that you didn't consume. While checking out the attendent was on the phone telling an occupent that they can get back in the shower as the water has been turned back on, this being at around 8-30am when most people would be getting ready in the morning. The counter person & restaurant staff I felt could be trained in better customer service & the cleaners could wait until 10am before entering units for cleaning.

The service let it down, lack of any warmth & character from staff.

Whale watching definate must do. Whale song is a good trip but is the slowest boat so less time with the whales. The aquarium Reef World could need some dollars coming in, but is worth a look & the staff are great, keen to make you welcome. Gringo Mexican Cantina on esplanade is a great place for a meal. If you have a chance to go to Fraser make sure you go, superb place.

The location is great but the unit was so old and dated, to make it worse, the bed was so hard we couldnt really sleep. The sliding door to the bathroom didnt work.

Room was noisy

We are given room 510 over the restaurant below. It was noisy with the coming and going of the people in the restaurant. The hotel was not full so why were we given a noisy room. The noise started well before 6 a. And didn't finish until after 10 p. We paid our accommodation before arriving on our credit card. The receptionist took a swipe of our credit card but didn't explain why. When we booked out we then found out that 0 had been pre-authorised to our credit card and it will take 10 days to fall off.

There is no mini bar in the room therefore I find this pre-authorisation unacceptable. It was explained it was for any damage that may occur however if you have the credit card number why can't you do a telephone charge instead of a pre-authorisation if there is any damage. We now have to wait 10 days for it to clear. I work in the travel industry and would find it hard to recommend your hotel

Hervey Bay is great however we own property there and visit the town periodically.
